Practical Tips for Your Campervan Road Trip from Alicante
Best time to travel
Spring and autumn are particularly pleasant for exploring southern Spain by campervan, with generally mild temperatures and fewer visitors than in summer. Winter can also be an excellent option, although evenings may be cooler and some facilities operate reduced hours.
Where to stay overnight
Plan your overnight stops in advance and use authorised campsites or designated motorhome areas. Apps such as Park4Night, Campercontact and CaraMaps can help you find suitable facilities. Always check current local regulations and recent reviews.
Driving and parking
Some historic town centres have narrow streets and restricted access. It’s usually easier to park outside the centre and explore on foot. In natural parks such as Cabo de Gata, vehicle access and parking may be regulated.
What to pack
Bring comfortable walking shoes, layers for cooler evenings, sun protection and a light jacket. Check the weather forecast before travelling, especially if you’re planning coastal walks or outdoor activities.
Travelling from Alicante Airport
